California Workforce Association is Requesting Continuum of Care Assistance with Homeless Hiring Tax Credit

The California Workforce Association (CWA) is partnering with the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) to host a series of virtual regional webinars across the state to educate and promote the use of the Homeless Hiring Tax Credit (HHTC) within nonprofit organizations, local workforce boards and employers.

CWA would like to have one representative per region, seven total, join them during these webinars on a panel to discuss the relationship between Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDB) and local CoCs. The seven regions are Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Orange County, San Diego, Central Valley, Capitol/Bay Area and NorCal.

CWA envisions the webinars to be one hour long made up of four components: general overview, walk through, panel and Q&A. Local CoCs can provide insight on how local boards may register into the HMIS system to register/validate an individual who is unhoused.

CWA is also asking local CoCs to assist with making organizations that assist homeless individuals or employers that they work with aware of the HHTC. For more information to share about HHTC, click here.

If you would like more information about how your CoC can support HHTC, contact Isis Orellana, Policy Analyst, CWA at iorellana@calworkforce.org.
