City of San Bernardino invites applications for the position of DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF HOUSING & HOMELESSNESS

THE POSITION:

The Deputy Director of Housing and Homelessness provides management level support as it relates to the
preparation and implementation of the City’s Consolidated Action Plan; directs, supervises, and performs a
variety of professional-level functions related to homelessness prevention, programs, rapid re-housing
options, outreach and community engagement efforts to develop public understanding and support,
implementation of the City’s Low Income Housing Strategy, and preparation of the City’s Annual Action
Plan and the Community Development Block Grant Work Plan; serves as the staff person for the Community Development Block Grant Ad Hoc Committee; and directs, supervises, and assists in the securing of grants for all City programs and complex affordable housing projects.

EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public or private sector programs involving community development and housing initiatives, including responsibility for grants applications,
administration of grant awards, and delivery of programs to address homelessness with at least three (3)
years of direct supervisory experience.
