HUD Released 2022 Homeless Count Data This Morning

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today
released
its 2022 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) Part 1 to Congress 

The 2022 homeless count data is posted on CoC Homeless Populations and Subpopulations Reports – HUD Exchange.

A quick comparison of the 2022 to 2020 data reveals:

  • All States, US Territories, Puerto Rico, and DC
    • 2022 total homeless count was 582,462 and 580,455 in 2020, which presents an increase of 2,007 persons or 0.3%
  • California
    • 2022 total homeless count was 171,521 and 161,548 in 2020, which presents an increase of 9,973 persons or 6.2%
  • Southern California’s 13 CoCs
    • 2022 total homeless count was 98,256 and 95,275 in 2020, which presents an increase of 2,981 persons or 3.1%
