Question: Does your community gather information on homeless deaths from your medical examiner/coroner’s offices plus local hospitals? In VC, our Medical Examiner has told us that they do not have the complete data on # of deaths especially of those that are admitted to a hospital and die in that setting. Please let us know if your community has established a process for collecting this data. Thank you!
Question: Does your local VA staff participate in HMIS for HUD-VASH? If not, does your local housing authority assist with HMIS data entries? We have been advised by the VA to request CSV data files from the VASH team to upload into HMIS… Does anyone have experience with this process? We are trying to improve our HMIS utilization rate.
Question: Do any CoCs have specific strategies and guidance you can share for counting our unsheltered population in the 2020 Census? We were informed that Census staff will be assisting at specific service locations; however, we are concerned about counting those who are located in other areas, such as encampments, parks or vehicles.
Question: We are looking to connect with any other CoC’s that are structured similar to our county where you are the HUD grantee (CoC) and subcontract out to other agencies to provide CoC services. We are looking to find out how other CoC’s process their HUD CoC claims to see if we can streamline our process.
Question: With the decrease in FMR’s for 2018, what are your Leasing projects doing for those clients whose rents are at the top 2017 FMR rate? Moving the clients, finding other funding sources for the rent amount that is now over the 2018 FMR? Would like to know how your projects or Continuum is handling this.
