BCSH Secretary Lourdes Castro Ramírez and HHS Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly, Co-Chairs of the State’s Interagency Council on Homelessness, (is) requesting your assistance to provide information through your local networks, to ensure that local communities and unhoused neighbors are aware of the series of this week’s storms that are predicted to result in severe weather, with potentially damaging winds, heavy rain, and flooding.

As many of you are aware, California is bracing for a series of storms that is predicted to result in severe weather, with potentially damaging winds, heavy rain and flooding. Both our agencies, the California Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH), and the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) are activated at the state’s emergency operations center and are in communication with our respective grantees, which include Counties, Continuum of Care entities, and Cities, to disseminate best
practice resources and toolkits to help with local planning and response efforts.
As Co-Chairs of the State’s Interagency Council on Homelessness, we are requesting your assistance to provide information through your local networks, so that we can collectively ensure that local communities and unhoused neighbors are aware of the pending severe weather this week.
