Ventura County’s homeless population increases by 4 percent, but more people are sheltered
March 12, 2020
Ventura County’s homeless population rose for the third straight year in 2020, with 1,743 homeless adults and children counted during a single day in January through the annual point-in-time count.
This number represents a 4.4 percent increase from last year’s total of 1,669 people. After significant increases of 28.5 percent in 2019 and 12.8 percent in 2018, this year’s count could mean the increase is slowing.
